about the event

"Buskers by the Creek" is making it's debut on the Gold Coast festival circuit in 2014 and we're SUPER EXCITED!

Event Director, Cindy Jensen was inspired during a trip to Thailand, after walking through an outdoor maze of colour, culture, flavour, rhythm and surprise.

Embarking on the approval process, Cindy had no idea how the concept would be received and is overwhelmed at the interest and support from talent, vendors, community, volunteers and local business.

"Buskers by the Creek" will showcase an array of international talents and is a weekend of unique entertainment you won't want to miss!

about event times

"Buskers by the Creek" will kick-off at 10am on the 18th October, with feature performer Dan Hannaford taking centre stage on the Chevrolet!

Energy Entertainments will close the first day festivities at 6.00pm with Neal's Kung Fu, fire and dance performance set to ignite at 5.45pm.

Ash Perrow is due to take centre stage at the Happy Traveller, with a Sunday instrumental showdown in store for you all!  The Smashed Crabs will close our inaugural event, on the main stage from 4.45pm.

 10am to 6pm = Festival Fun!

about the program

Take-home souvenir copies will be available from our volunteer crew stationed in the "Glamping Days" festival tents - make sure to bag yourself a copy!  It's FREE!

about the parking

A designated "Drop Off Zone" will be stationed along Duringan Street, for those wishing to drop off family, friends or equipment before heading to find a park.  Look out for our welcoming volunteers dressed in top hats and wide grins!

We promote walking and cycling to the event, but for those opting to use public transport, a bus departs from The Pines Shopping Centre on an hourly basis.

Centre parking is available at The Pines with roof top spaces aplenty, leaving only a short walk in the great outdoors.

Given the unique venue, on-street parking is the main option and some leg work will be required.  When parking, we thank you for being mindful of our neighbours and not obstructing access to their properties.  Happy neighbours = annual event approval!

about the BARKING

Thanks to Lucky 13 Creative Industries, your pooches can also enjoy the festivities and relax in their "Doggy Day Bed Zone".  Remember: no leash = no entry.

about the kids zone

All entertainment is family friendly, with the added bonus of a Kids Zone incorporating arts, crafts and music related activities.

The Creative Craft Centre will be offering hands-on craft ranging from $3-$10 and Julie from Makin' Mini Music will be stationed nearby, offering hourly music workshops for FREE!

about the park facilities

In order to accommodate the international food vendors and entertainers, internal carparks will be closed from Friday 17th October, to close of festival at 6pm on Sunday 19th October.

Winders Park is home to a number of BBQ areas which will be accessible throughout the weekend.  Toilet facilities are also available within the park grounds.

For those opting for menu alternatives, there is a selection of nearby takeaway food outlets and restaurants - keep an eye out for their festival specials!

about first aid

Not that we expect any injuries, but we'll have qualified first aid personnel on site and they'll be easily accessible from the "Glamping Days" information tents.

about the alcohol free zone

"Buskers by the Creek" is promoted as a family friendly and alcohol free event and therefore, no alcohol will be permitted within the park grounds.  No alcohol related issues = annual event approval.

ABOUT WHAT TO BRING

We recommend you pack a picnic blanket or your favourite camp chair and lay claim to your preferred position.  A beach umbrella wouldn't go astray either and remember, SLIP, SLOP, SLAP!

No worries if you forget your money honey!  Thanks to ATM's On The Go, an ATM will be accessible at the event.
